and continue to a previously scheduled event he had in california. >> our reporter does mention the latest on the investigation. it's becoming a little more clear that this was not an immediate thing for the suspect. this was something planned correct? >> detective say he methodically planned this out. their boat computer and hard drive and some batman paraphernalia. abc news has learned he was applying for membership to a private gun range and according to the owner of the gun range, he called to check the membership but got a voice mail. he describes the voicemail as creepy batman-inspired, weird and incoherent. he says the words were mumbling and he could not even understand what he was saying. detectives are taking that into consideration. >> the president is expected to

victims. the n.c.a.a. will make its ruling tomorrow. >> there are a number of graduates in our area from penn state and we caught up with some of them to get their reaction to the statue coming down. are the people you spoke with -- they knew a lot about him. >> they revered him. we have heard from dozens of students and alma -- students and alumni and all of them say it is a sad day. they say seeing the statue come down, for others knowing the punishment that comes tomorrow and there are mixed emotions about what is the proper price to play -- price to pay. it's the tale of two penn state alumni. >> i think it will take a while. >> both graduated in 2010 and

a great indication of what is on the way over the next several days. temperatures in the lower 90s expected. look at the 24-hour temperature change -- 12 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. the clouds are finally beginning to break up. partly to mostly cloudy for the overnight hours. that will keep the temperatures up. quiet and dry on that doppler radar this hour. a computer model of what we expect to happen during the day tomorrow -- temperatures jumping to the lower and middle nineties. a little hot for the district. a very hot day on tuesday. the heat index could be between 100 and at 105.

here is the forecast as we take you through the overnight hours, temperatures will fall to around 68 to 74 degrees. daytime highs in a moral -- daytime high tomorrow in the low to middle nineties. we will eventually make in the lower to mid 90's, a little cooler on wednesday. lower 90s on saturday. the hot weather will continue. we have a great new blog talking about the record highs for the month of july. so far, the beginning of the today, we are hotter than we were last year. >> so we are on track for a hot summer. >> at this point last night there was an on known aussie on top of the leader boards for the british open. he was already signing off the
